THANKS!

When Marilyn offered this opportunity last year, I called Royal Columbia Hospital,
where my little one was born, and asked whether they would accept knit toques.

They did, as they are a Level Three hospital, and had an enormous amount of preemies
born there every month -- I can't remember the statistics off the top of my head right now.

But, anyway, the toques arrived and they were beautiful and I just kept forgetting
to take them down.

Well, eight months ago now our friend's son, 10 yrs old, was diagnosed with
an adult form of brain cancer. Kevin was a very special little boy who loved
all creatures great and small, particularly bugs but babies too :)

He spent much of six months in and out of Children's Hospital here in Vancouver,
but in August he was admitted to Royal Columbia Pediatrics ward. At this time,
although they didn't serve their exact intended purpose, Kevin proudly donated
almost 300 toques to "The Little Ones" in his name.

At the end of August, Kevin passed away at Royal Columbia -- and the toques
we have received since that time will be donated in his memory to BC Children's Hospital.

I just wanted to thank the West Coast Knitters for something that became very special
to a little boy and his family.
