Pattern #1-
Baby Sayelle, Size 3mm or 4mm needles
Tension - 12 sts. to inch (smaller needles)
Cast on 60 sts. and k.1, p.1 rib for 1 inch
Then knit one row plain, one row purl until you have 4 inches of stockinette stitch
Next: Cast off row: k.2, k2 tog, repeat to end of row
Next one row purl
* k.1, .k2 tog to end of row
Next one row purl*
Continue *to*until there are 7-10 stitches
Pull yarn through remaining stitches and sew seam.
Add pompom or decorations as you like. Have fun and make each one different if you like.

Cast off row: k.2 tog., p.2 tog. to end of row (30 sts)
Next 3 rows: Knit in 1x1 rib keeping your ribbing right.
Cast off row: k.2 tog., p.2 tog. to end of row (15 sts)
Pull yarn through remaining stitches and sew seam.
Variation: A k.2, p.2 rib may be substituted as shown in the photos.
Using any baby yarn, and 3mm needles, cast on 59 st
Row 1: k3, p1,k3 REPEAT to end of row
Row 2: k1, p1,(k3,p1, k3) to last two stitches, p1, k1.
Repeat these two rows until work measures 5 inches, and then to cast off...
1st row: k2, (k2tog, k2) until last stitch, k1.
2nd row: k2,(k2,p1) to end of row, k1.
3rd row: k2, (k2tog,k1) to end of row, k1.
4th row:k2,(k1,p1) to end of row, k1.
5th row: (k2 tog) to end of row, k1.
6th row: p
7th row: (k2tog) repeat to end.
Draw yarn through last stitches, gather and sew up side of cap. Add pompom if desired.
